Ausgezeichnetes Broadway-Debüt

Bryan Cranston

Schauspieler Bryan Cranston, der in seiner Rolle als Walter White in „Breaking Bad“ seinen internationalen Durchbruch feierte, ist am 8. Juni mit einem Tony Award für sein Broadway-Debüt ausgezeichnet worden. Der 58-Jährige wurde für seine Rolle als Präsident Lyndon B. Johnson in Robert Schenkkan’s Stück „All The Way“ als „Bester Schauspieler“ ausgezeichnet.

Für Cranston, der zwischen 2008 und 2010 drei Emmys und 2014 einen Golden Globe erhielt, ist es die erste Theater-Auszeichnung seiner Karriere. „All The Way“ wurde außerdem als „Bestes Theaterstück“ ausgezeichnet.

Die „Tony Awards“-Gala in New York wurde von Hugh Jackman moderiert, während Samuel L. Jackson, Orlando Bloom, Rapper T.I. und LL Cool J am Sonntagabend als Laudatoren auf der Bühne standen.
